Credentialing
How long does credentialing take?
Each payer sets its own timeline. It's commonly several weeks to a few months from a complete application, and some payers take longer. Medicare and Medicaid have their own processing times. We follow up with each payer on a schedule so your applications keep moving, and we tell you where each one stands.
Can you guarantee a payer will accept me?
No one can. Payers decide who joins their network, and some close their panels in certain areas. What we can do is make sure your application is complete and accurate, find out early whether a panel is open, and follow every application to a decision.
Do I need a CAQH profile?
Most commercial payers use CAQH ProView to collect your credentialing information, so yes, for most providers. If you don't have one, we set it up with you. If you do, we review it for gaps and keep it re-attested every 120 days.
What do you need from me to start?
For each provider: NPI number, state license number and CAQH ID. For a group or facility, also the group NPI and tax ID. Payers pull most supporting documents from CAQH, and we'll tell you if anything else is missing.
I've already started some applications. Can you take over?
Yes. Tell us which payers you've applied to and anything you've heard back. We'll check each application's status and pick up from there.
What happens after I'm approved?
Approvals need upkeep: CAQH re-attestation, re-credentialing (usually every three years), updates when anything changes, and renewal of licenses and insurance. Our monthly maintenance service tracks all of it and screens providers against the federal exclusion lists every month.
Licensing and accreditation
Which states do you work in?
All 50 states and Washington, D.C. Licensing requirements are set by each state, so the first step is always confirming the agency and license type for your program in your state.
Do I need to be accredited?
It depends on your program, your state and your payers. Some states require accreditation for certain programs, some payers and funders won't contract without it, and others don't require it at all. We'll find out for your situation before recommending it.
Which accrediting bodies do you work with?
CARF, The Joint Commission, AAAHC, ACHC, CHAP, DNV, URAC and NCQA. If your funder or payer named a specific accreditor, tell us which.
Our survey is soon. Is it too late?
Tell us the date. We'll start with a readiness assessment and focus on the gaps most likely to come up, then run a mock survey if there's time.
Pricing, payment and privacy
How much does it cost?
It depends on scope: how many providers, payers, locations and states are involved, and which services you need. After a consultation you get a written quote listing every service and what it covers. Ongoing services like maintenance and billing are monthly.
How do I pay?
Each invoice comes with a secure link where you can view it and pay online by card. The invoice also lists any other payment options.
Do you need patient information?
Not for licensing, accreditation or credentialing. Billing work does involve patient information, so billing clients sign a Business Associate Agreement with us first, as HIPAA requires. Please don't send patient information through this website.
Do you work with solo providers?
Yes. Credentialing is hard to fit around a full caseload, so it's often the first thing a solo clinician hands off. The quote is sized to one provider.
